đŸŸ A Pawfect Kindness Day: How Waffles Teaches Me to Be Gentle

Kindness Day always makes me think of Waffles. Her little acts of love are my daily dose of hope. When I’m hungry, she doesn’t just push the “Make Food” button—she chooses “Share Snacks,” even though she could easily ask for her own meal. That’s empathy. That’s awareness. That’s her saying, “I see you.”

When I’m too sad to get out of bed, she brings me a toy so we can do a little baby tug play under the covers. It lights up my whole world. She doesn’t need me to be cheerful or productive—she just wants to connect. She listens, she responds, and she meets me where I am. That’s not just kindness. That’s emotional intelligence.

She even helps with the dishes—licking them clean and making cooking feel less overwhelming. And when she demands food, I usually end up eating a healthy snack too. Waffles reminds me that kindness isn’t loud—it’s consistent. It’s in the small, thoughtful gestures that say, “I’ve got you.” And on days when I forget how to be gentle with myself, she shows me how.
